Yes, we go outside daily, except in inclement weather. We have a separate space for large motor activities and play for children. There is a trampoline, gymnastics mats, a balance beam, a child-sized basketball hoop, and larger toy vehicles for them to drive in this space, as well as an additional space for imaginative play.
Each day follows a predictable, structured routine that helps children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn, while allowing the flexibility to respond to their individual needs. With our small student-to-teacher ratio, we can thoughtfully adjust the day based on each child's interests, energy, and developmental stage.
If children become deeply engaged in a learning experience, meaningful play opportunity, or classroom investigation, we often extend that time rather than rushing to the next activity. Our educators intentionally observe children's curiosity, questions, and emerging skills, using those observations to guide the day's learning. This responsive approach encourages inquiry, creativity, and joyful exploration while ensuring children continue building the social, emotional, and academic foundations needed for kindergarten and beyond.
